Developed by a mother-daughter team, Stevie Wren originated out of a passion for design, travel, sourcing, and mentoring. Coming from a business and design background, Karen cultivated an immense sense of design aesthetic from her many years of traveling abroad. Karen sought to bring those various cultural influences to the American marketplace, while simultaneously, mentoring and building the brand with her daughter Stevie thus, bridging the gap between generations. Stevie’s fine arts degree, opera studies, and social media skills lead to a passion for jewelry design.
Bringing a diverse set of skills to the brand, it was natural for the two to begin a business that combined their love for travel and product design. Sourcing raw, authentic materials and utilizing techniques from the US, and abroad, the team developed a unique and one-of-a-kind jewelry line.
Each piece curated in the Stevie Wren collection has a story and specific meaning behind the materials in the design. Whether it’s a rare colored diamond, a dynamic cut gemstone, or unique setting, we always design with intention. Sustainable sourcing, genuine product, and artisanal craft are the backbone of Stevie Wren.
It always starts with a stone…Karen is the true visionary behind the brand. Her attention to detail & the small nuances in the composition of the pieces is what gives the designs a handmade, “boutique” feel. Stevie approaches the design process differently, and tries to think about it from a stylizing perspective. Her obsession with opals & turquoise has a strong presence in the line, and she still hand selects all of these stones herself.
Unlike many other fine jewelry lines, we pride ourselves in creating pieces that are not mass produced, and instead create “small batch” or limited edition seasonal sets. This route of production keeps us as the designers in constant control of the quality & integrity in every piece produced.
The foundation of Stevie Wren was built on the fundamental ideals of women empowerment: strength, confidence, and self-reliance. Former VP of Marketing in Chicago, Karen is a strong advocate for women in business leadership, and feels a sense of responsibility to help mentor the younger generation of millennial women.
After Stevie graduated college, Karen realized this lack of female leadership in her own daughters career path, so she sought to create a company that would teach Stevie the various aspects of building a business in a supportive and judgment-free environment. Overall, instilling a sense of privilege, self-worth, and independence.
Karen and Stevie feel it is part of their social responsibility as women to “give back” to these programs that are helping empower young women. While Stevie & Karen have always made charitable giving a priority, now, a portion of every Stevie Wren Fine Jewelry sale goes directly towards mentorship programs that empower and teach young girls to be joyful and confident about who they are as individuals, while also teaching them their limitless potential, and encouraging them to boldly pursue their dreams.
